ESB ToolKit 2.1 Installation Guide Supplement

What I have done:

[Before you Run the C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1Binmicrosoft.practices.esb.uddipublisher.exe]
1. Copied:
             Drive:Program Files (x86)Microsoft BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1Bintransporttype.xml
               to
             Drive:Users[YourUser]
Otherwise you get this:

After Copying, the run went fine.

2.  Add all DLL’s to Microsoft.Practices.ESB via import.  (After I created the Microsoft.Practices.ESB by hand. )
3.  Import Bindings from binding files in  Program Files (x86)Microsoft BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1Bindings
Check that the Bindings have imported correctly:

Start Application:
3.  Fix UDDI.

ESB 2.1 Install workaround (msi failures)

ESB MSI’s fail (Workaround)    ESB 2.1  (Attempt 1)

Event Viewer:

An error occurred while attempting to install the BizTalk application: A file load exception occurred while attempting to install the assembly into the Global Assembly Cache. This error may occur if the assembly is delay signed, or if assembly was renamed after creating/signing.

Strong name signature could not be verified. The assembly may have been tampered with, or it was delay signed but not fully signed with the correct private key. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8013104

I came across this:

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/biztalkesb/thread/85e39e5d-e58b-4190-8302-7c80d80d48e8

Went to add resources manually

Created a new application:

Dont name it ESB 2.1 instead use:  Microsoft.Practices.ESB

Went to add resource

Went to the C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft BizTalk ESB Toolkit 2.1Bin

Loaded all 3 sets of DLL’s (And probably a couple unneeded ones).

Added Resources

Configured Application:

Started the Application:

So now I have the resources imported. I will try the 2.0-1 conversion tomorrow.

Itinerary Fix

See Above:
The Microsoft BizTalk ESB Toolkit .msi does not register the itinerary designer by default. Post installation, the user needs to select Install itinerary designer extensions under Start> All Programs> Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 ESB toolkit.

Note: I only have premium installed Embarrassed.
